RetroArms Piston 14,5 steel teeth

A new generation of the popular piston with a steel teeth. The piston body is made of Polyamide PA6.6 with 30% carbon fiber and 5% Molybdenum. The plastic body is reinforced and modified for better durability.

The steel teeth is newly manufactured from material 14260 (54SiCr6) which is a spring steel. Before machining, the steel is annealed to remove internal stress, then the entire ridge is milled on a CNC machine and subsequently refined by hardening. The hardness of the teeth is 52 - 54HRC which is ideal because the teeth are hard but at the same time flexible and not brittle.

Due to the Molybdenum additive used in the plastic, the plastic body of the piston is not lubricated, but used dry. Most plastics degrade after being contaminated with oil or petrolatum, reducing their strength.

We recommend applying Vaseline only to the steel comb.

Pistons can be used on the strongest springs.
