The Stoner LMG is a light machine gun designed by Eugene Stoner and manufactured by Knight's Armament Company (KAC). It is also known as the KAC Stoner 96 LMG to differentiate it from the earlier ArmaLite Stoner 63 LMG and Ares Stoner 86 LMG from which it is derived.
For a machine gun, the weapon is relatively light, weighing only 4.7 kg. This is primarily due to its more compact dimensions. The body and foregrip are made of metal, while the magazine and pistol grip are made of plastic. The box magazine is powered by an electric feed mechanism and can hold 1200 rounds. The magazine is powered by a 9V battery (not included). A number of mounting rails allow the weapon to be equipped with tactical accessories according to the user's requirements.
