BAS recommends:
The Japanese Arisaka Type 97 rifle was introduced into service in 1905 and served until the end of World War II. It became a typical weapon of Japanese soldiers throughout East Asia and the entire Pacific. The sniper variant was introduced into in 1937. It is characterized by a folding metal leg and an offset scope.
The replica is made by S&T Armament. The bolt is made of aluminum and the stock is wooden. At the bolt you will find the original marking including the chrysanthemum imperial emblem. The sight on the weapon is foldable with the possibility of setting salvo sights. The folding monopod is made of steel wire. The scope is attached to the weapon by a specific assembly. The scopes on the original were shot and adjusted directly in the factory, therefore the replica has no adjustment. The manufacturer recommends using a riflescope for observation and using fixed sights for aiming.
A very nicely crafted weapon is suitable for shooting and just displaying.
