The HK416 carbine was developed according to the requirements of the American special forces based on the original M4, but instead of the direct action of gases, it uses a gas piston to control the bolt function. During field tests, the weapon proved to be much more reliable than its predecessor and soon became a standard weapon not only for special forces but also for the marines. Of course, the weapon quickly found its way into the arsenal of armies and special forces around the world.
