VIVA M1919 A6

The M1919 Browning is a .30 caliber machine gun that was widely used during the 20th century, particularly during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The M1919 was used as a light infantry, coaxial, mounted, aircraft, and anti-aircraft machine gun in the United States and many other countries. During the war, it became clear to the US Army that the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle, while portable, was not sufficient as a sustained-fire weapon due to its fixed barrel and 20-round magazine. The M1919A4 was faster and cheaper to produce, but lacked the portability of the rifle. The Army realized that producing a completely new replacement machine gun would take some time, so they decided that a stopgap solution would be best and modified the existing design. The M1919A6 was an attempt at such a solution, resembling the designs of the German MG 34 and MG 42 machine guns, each of which was portable for a squad weapon and very effective in continuous fire.
